Thorsten Bueltemeier, Operations Director

Thorsten Bueltemeier was appointed Operations Director at CET Teleport in Hameln in January 2009. He is responsible for the management of all the operational activities at the teleport and for the quality of service delivery to CET’s customers.

For two years prior to joining CET he was Head of Order Processing for SAM Electronics, a company specialised in Automation, Navigation and Communication for ships in Hamburg.

Before that, between 1998 and 2006, Thorsten was based at Hameln working for the companies which owned the Hameln Teleport before it was bought by CET.

From 2005 to 2006 he was Director of Operations EMEA for Stratos Global Inc; from 2003 to 2006 he was Director of Network Services for Plenexis; and from 1998 to 2003 he was Senior Manager Customer Help Desk for Deutsche Telekom Satellite Telecommunications GmbH (DeTeSat). In the latter role he developed all the procedures and processes for the management of customer service which are still in use today.

Thorsten first joined the telecommunications industry in 1989 as a technician with Deutsche Bundespost (later Telekom) helping them to develop their fibre network. In 1996 he began his career in the satellite industry by joining Teleport Europe in Frankfurt as a Systems Engineer, leaving them in 1998 to join DeTeSat in his home town of Hameln.
